Application processing times
On July 31, 2018, IRCC changed the way they show processing times for clients seeking to apply in the permanent resident lines of business listed below. The way IRCC now calculate these processing times provides a more accurate estimate for how long we expect the processing of most complete applications in these lines of business to take for individuals who have not yet applied.
Sponsoring a parent or grandparent
Economic immigration (Provincial Nominees (excluding Express Entry); Skilled Workers (Quebec only); Start-up visa)
Humanitarian and compassionate cases
In the past, all processing times listed on our website were based on applications processed in the previous year. Now, projected processing times for the above lines of business take into consideration the number of current applications waiting to be processed and the volume of admissions allowed each year under the multi-year immigration levels plan.
See each processing time for an explanation of how it’s calculated.
